NEW EDITION

In every respect – both in terms of author, genre and content, and in terms of the circumstances of its creation and publication – this is a specific, indeed unique book. The first edition of this book from 1978, which introduces the audience to the Musical Traditions of the South Slavs in Hungary, was not seen by the author Tihomir Vujicic himself. It was compiled posthumously based on a partially prepared manuscript and partly on sketched notes.

The editors of the current second edition took on no less a task than to, through international cooperation, jointly edit, according to their efforts, a critical edition of this collection, which is considered Vujicic's main work and in which the author summarized his ethnomusicological work.

The book is a joint publication of the Institute of Musicology of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Musicology of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the House of Traditions - Budapest, the Serbian Institute and the "Vujičić" Association.
