Serbian calendar for the year 2025

The Serbian Calendar for the Simple Year 2025 – the traditional yearbook of Serbs in Hungary – brings a variety of articles by as many as 41 authors. On 325 numbered pages, the texts are grouped into the following thematic sections: Church Calendar; Christian Virtues, Fasts; Feasts of Serbian Churches in Hungary; From the Past of Our Church; Traditional Culture; Serbian Language, Our Heart; From Our Past; From the Past of Serbs in the Region; From Hungarian History; From Serbian Literature; From the Pens of Our Writers; Creators from the Region; New Editions; Serbian Community in 2025; Our Awardees; Eternal Commemoration; Photo Album of Serbs in Hungary 2024; Entertainment; For the Young and Even Younger; Children's Corner; and finally, a list of all authors of the contributions. The texts provide information from religious life (with important dates of Orthodox saints and family celebrations), anniversaries of significant figures and events from the past of the entire Serbs, i.e. Serbs in Hungary, as well as current texts of an informative, educational and entertaining nature - with many high-quality color illustrations. The Calendar marks a total of 102 events from the life of the Serbian community in 2024, presents 18 award-winning individuals, presents 9 new editions and commemorates 7 individuals. A total of 38 settlements are mentioned in the text descriptions, where one or more important events related to the life of the local Serbian population took place. History and cultural history are represented in the calendar with 45 texts, and literature with 14 (of which the literature of Serbs in Hungary with 6) texts. In the field of science, youth, children and schools, there were 9 articles; 3 texts each on the Serbian language, recipes, sports and humor, and 2 works by authors on films and light music. The calendar was edited by Milenko Radić, Borislav Rus and Pera Lastić, and the publisher was the Self-Government of Serbs in Hungary (SSM). The preparation of the Serbian Calendar was assisted by the Serbian Institute on the basis of a contract concluded with the SSM. The Institute's collaborators and partners are among the authors of important texts, in addition to other prominent authors from Serbia and the region (Romania, Croatia), and the archival materials collected by the Institute over the past years have been made available for this edition. The Serbian Calendar is the most widely circulated and most widely distributed publication of Serbs in Hungary. It can be purchased at the premises of the Self-Government of Serbs in Hungary (Országos Szerb Önkormányzat, 1055 Budapest, Falk Miksa u. 3.) for a price of 2,000 forints (5 euros).
