About us

The Serbian Institute is an institution founded in Budapest in 2009 by
Self-Government of Serbs in Hungary (SSM). The SSM has the legal status of a territorial
minority self-government and at the state level represents the interests of the Serbian
community in Hungary, that is, it achieves the cultural autonomy of Serbs in Hungary through the establishment and maintenance of various cultural, educational and other institutions, such as information institutions.
