The collection "Ethnology of Serbs in Hungary: Status and Perspectives" contains papers from the scientific conference held under the same name on November 19 and 20, 2010 in Budapest, organized by the Serbian Institute in Budapest and co-organized by the Ethnographic Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts and the Ethnic Section of the Hungarian Ethnographic Society. The goal of the conference was to critically summarize the total results of ethnological and ethnographic work among Serbs in Hungary to date. The papers in this collection are mainly of a review nature. The intention was to collect and record not only the results, but also the circumstances, motivations and methods of organizing previous research. The collection contains 17 scientific papers, including the works of the doyens of South Slavic ethnography in Hungary, as well as many associates of the Ethnographic Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (Marija Kiš, Dušan Drljača, Đuro Šarošac, Đuro Franković). The editors of the collection are Mladena Prelić (Ethnographic Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts), Pera Lastić (Serbian Institute). We hope that readers will find useful information in this collection, and perhaps also incentives for further work in this area. The papers are accompanied by summaries in Hungarian and English.
The collection can be purchased at the Serbian Institute (Budapest V. district, Veres Palne u. 19, 2nd floor – Tekelianum building).
