The famous "Sermon on Voluntary Contributions" by the young Sombor priest Vasilije Kovačić (1779-1857) represented a strong and decisive support for the royal school superintendent Uroš Stefan Nestorović in establishing the School Fund in 1811, as well as in establishing the first Serbian teacher training school in Szentendre, the famous "Preparandija", in the fall of 1812.
The book was published on the occasion of the bicentennial of the founding of the first Serbian teacher training school (Preparandija) and when the tradition of teacher education in Sombor enters its 235th year. The book also contains a reprint of the original edition in Slavonic-Serbian, with a parallel translation into modern Serbian.
The notebook can be purchased at the Serbian Institute (Budapest V. district, Veres Palne u. 19, 2nd floor – Tekelianum building).
